The parks and facilities below are owned and maintained by Rockdale County by or through the Rockdale County Parks and Recreation Department.

Recreational Areas

• Pine Log Park
  Located at 1451 Pine Log Road, Conyers 30012. Total acreage is 13.77. Amenities include a tennis center for the Rockdale County Parks and Recreation Department, six lighted tennis courts, one mile nature trail, fitness trail, covered picnic pavilion with restrooms, one outdoor basketball court, two playgrounds, picnic tables and grills. Open all year, 7 days per week, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. For more information, call 770-761-3058.
  
  
• Johnson Park
  Located at 1791 Ebenezer Road, Conyers 30094. Total acreage is 53. Amenities include four softball fields, concession stand, offices and meeting room, restroom facilities and storage, playground, gym/recreational complex, meeting rooms for programs, administrative offices, indoor pool, picnic areas. Office hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Recreation Center is open from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Park is open when activities are scheduled and being conducted. For more information, call 770-785-5922 or 770-785-5923 or 770-785-5925 (rain out number).
  
  
• Black Shoals Park & Lake
  Total acreage is 650. Amenities include boat ramp, fishing pier, boat storage, picnic pavillion. Park hours are from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. For more information, call 770-785-5922 or call the gate house at 770-761-1611.
  
  Directions: Go I-20, Exit 82 (Hwy 138), Go north to Sigman Rd, Turn left, Follow Sigman Road to Hwy. 20 north, Turn right, Travel north 5.3 miles to Bethel Rd, Turn right, Travel about a mile to Black Shoals Rd, Turn left, Black Shoals Rd will dead-end into park
  
  Note: All boats must be off the water no later than 5:30 p.m. Gasoline motors are not allowed on the lake. Electric, sail, row or man-powered boats are the only vessels allowed.
  
  
• Milstead Pool
  Located on Main Street in Milstead. Total acreage is 2.5 acres. Amenities include pool with concession stand, bathhouse, large sundeck, playground, restroom facilities. Open June through August, Monday through Friday from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Saturday from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., and Sunday 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. For more information, call 770-785-5926 or 770-785-5922.
  
  
• Richardson Park
  Located at Union Church Road near Georgia Highway 138 South. Total acreage is 4. Amenities include two lighted tennis courts, multi-practice field used for baseball, softball and soccer. Open during daylight hours. For more information, call 770-785-5922.
  
  
• First Shady Grove Park
  Located on Old Covington Road. Total acreage is 1. Amenities include outdoor basketball courts, playground area, picnic tables and grills. Open during daylight hours. For more information, call 770-785-5922.
  
  
• Lakeview Estates Park
  Located at Lakeview Estates. Total acreage is 2. Amenities include outdoor basketball court and playground equipment. Open during daylight hours. For more information, call 770-785-5922.
  
  
• Earl O'Neal Sports Complex
  The Softball Complex is located at 2709 Old Covington Road. The Football Complex is located at 2711 Old Covington Road. Soccer Practice Fields is located at 2730 Old Covington Road. Total acreage is 140. Amenities include eight softball fields, concession stand, storage, scorekeeper building, RGSA boardroom and facilities, two football fields, concession stand, RYFA boardroom and restroom facilities, 8 soccer practice fields. Open all year round. • South Rockdale Community Park
  Located at 3909 East Fairview Road. Total acreage is 176. Amenities include restroom facilities, picnic tables, grills and a pavilion area. Call Johnson Park for pavilion reservations. Open during daylight hours. For more information, call 770-785-5922.
  
  
• JP Carr Gym
  Located at 986 Hardin Street. Total acreage is 9. Amenities include one gym, a multi-purpose field, and two outdoor basketball courts. Used seven days a week for summer play days program, winter youth basketball, adult winter groups, Rockdale County Alternative School, and various other groups. Open only during programs.
  
  
• Legion Field
  Located on Main Street. Acreage is 52. Amenities include 11 baseball fields with lights, 5 baseball fields without lights, 4 concession stands, 1 boardroom, 4 restroom facilities. Open for spring baseball from March through June, tournaments from July through August, and fall baseball from September through October.

• Important Information - Refund Policy:
  If a refund is requested prior to the beginning of class, a refund less 25% handling charge, will be issued if a written request is made to the recreation department. Refunds, less 25%, will be given after a class begins only with a doctors statement of participants incapacitating illness or injury. A written request for the refund must be accompanied by a doctors statement.
